KT&G Signs Business Agreement for 'World Class 10-Year Project' to Discover Young Talent
KT&G signed a business agreement for the 'World Class 10-Year Project' with Busan City and Busan Technopark Foundation on the 14th. View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] KT&G announced on the 17th that it has signed a business agreement for the ‘World Class 10-Year Project’ with Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Technopark.
The ‘World Class 10-Year Project’ is a program designed to discover and nurture young talents in the Busan area to become global leaders. By 2030, it will select a total of three applicants each year from the fields of △culture and arts △experts △issue leaders, and support their capacity development for three years.
At the signing ceremony, Lee Sang-hak, Head of KT&G’s Sustainable Management Division (Vice President), Kim Yoon-il, Deputy Mayor for Economy of Busan Metropolitan City, and Kim Hyung-gyun, President of Busan Technopark, attended. Under this business agreement, KT&G plans to support business promotion, talent discovery, consulting, and capacity development of selected candidates through ‘Sangsang Madang Busan.’ In particular, the institutions will establish a cooperative system to help promising young talents in the Busan area grow into global leaders and world-class talents through this agreement.

Since 2017, KT&G has been operating the ‘Sangsang Startup Camp,’ a social innovation entrepreneur nurturing program, to support the growth of young entrepreneurs. The 6th cohort is currently underway this year, with a total of 97 startup teams produced so far, 745 jobs created, and cumulative sales of approximately 20 billion KRW achieved.
