Bereaved Families of the 'Gwangju Collapse Accident' to Hold Separate Funeral Ceremony
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The funeral procedures for the victims of the Hwajeong I-Park collapse accident in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City will be conducted separately.
The family group of the missing persons stated on the 15th, "It seems that those who have become bereaved families from the missing persons will set up a funeral hall in the metropolitan area where they have ties," adding, "Discussions on related funeral procedures are underway."
They added, "We also considered setting up a joint memorial altar, but since we are human, we cannot ignore practical matters."
Among the six missing persons in this accident, one was recovered dead on the fourth day after the collapse.
The whereabouts of the remaining five have not been determined, as searches inside and outside the building using advanced equipment have yielded no significant results.
The dismantling of the tower crane for searching the upper floors of the collapsed building has been postponed to next Friday due to concerns over worker safety, resulting in a delay of about five days.
The missing person found dead is known to have been working on window installation on the upper floors of the apartment with colleagues on the day of the accident when the tragedy occurred.
