345 Billion Won Invested This Year to Support Art Industrialization
Hwang Hee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will meet with art industry stakeholders on the 13th at the Artist's House in Jongno-gu, Seoul. He will introduce related policies and projects and gather opinions to effectively promote them and create a virtuous ecosystem. Startup companies in the art industry, socio-economic organizations, and representatives of art groups are expected to participate.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will invest 34.5 billion KRW this year to support the industrialization of the arts. Nearly half of this, 16 billion KRW, will be used to establish the Art Culture Lab. An official explained, "We will comprehensively support startups, production, exchange, education, distribution, and demonstrations related to new works or activities." Business funds, consulting, and investment attraction will also be provided to art enterprises and socio-economic organizations, totaling 8.1 billion KRW. The official added, "For the first time this year, we plan to spend 2.2 billion KRW to assist overseas expansion." In addition, the ministry will open the Arts Management Academy to operate customized courses for about 3,300 people. Furthermore, through 'Artmoa,' launched last April, employment and job information will be provided.

Minister Hwang said, "For the art scene to have self-sustainability, the industrialization of the arts is necessary," adding, "Now is the time to establish a virtuous cycle structure that expands the domestic and international art markets through collaboration with advanced technologies and convergence with other fields." He continued, "We will spare no support to help art enterprises and organizations enhance their management capabilities and develop diverse business materials."
