"Prevent a Second Gwangju Collapse" ... Daegu City Launches Special Inspection of Winter Construction Sites
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Following the collapse accident at the mixed-use residential and commercial building construction site in Hwajeong-dong, Gwangju City, Daegu City has launched a special inspection of all construction sites.
Daegu City plans to thoroughly check safety inspection items at construction sites during this special inspection. They will also promote the prevention of safety accidents, pre-elimination of disaster causes, and securing safe passageways for vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites.
The inspection period is from the 17th to the 28th of this month. The target is 175 large construction sites over 10,000㎡ throughout the city. The inspections will be conducted jointly with the Daegu Regional Building Safety Center, district and county offices, and related experts.
