Sewon ENC Discusses Technology Partnership and Investment with Russian Success Rocket through Subsidiary: "Joint Venture Planned This Month"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Sewon ENC is pushing to establish a joint venture with Russia's SuccessRockets within this month for a commercial rocket business.
According to foreign media including the Russian state news agency TASS on the 11th, Oleg Mansurov, CEO of SuccessRockets, announced that he plans to visit Korea in January to promote the business through a joint venture with Sewon ENC.
Oleg Mansurov, CEO of SuccessRockets, stated, "We will develop next-generation engines and rockets through cooperation with Sewon ENC," adding, "We expect to launch a rocket to an altitude of 100 km within this year."
SuccessRockets is a Russian company possessing its own rocket manufacturing technology and has developed the three-stage solid-fuel rocket 'STALKER'. It is the only Russian private space launch vehicle manufacturer to have successfully launched pilot rockets twice.
Sewon ENC signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last November with the Russian private space company SuccessRockets regarding satellite rocket business in Korea.

A Sewon ENC official said, "CEO Oleg plans to visit Korea to tour Sewon ENC's production infrastructure and discuss rocket development with companies participating in the Korean launch vehicle Nuriho production," adding, "We plan to expand our aerospace business by securing Russian commercial rocket technology along with our existing technology for space launch vehicle pneumatic equipment."
