Abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family... Support 51.9% vs Opposition 38.5% [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] A survey revealed that about half of the public supports the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, a pledge proposed by Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party candidate.
On the 12th, Realmeter conducted a survey commissioned by YTN from the 10th to the 11th, targeting 1,011 people nationwide aged 18 and over (with a sampling error of ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level). In response to the question about the abolition of the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, 51.9% of respondents answered "support." Those who answered "oppose" accounted for 38.5%, and 9.6% said "don't know."
Support for abolishing the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family was particularly high among men by gender and the 20s age group by age.
By gender, 64.0% of men answered "support," while only 40.0% of women did. Conversely, 47.1% of women responded "oppose," which was higher.
By age group, those in their 20s showed the highest support at 60.8%, followed by those in their 30s at 56.7%, 50s at 52.5%, and 60s at 47.8%. Among those in their 40s, support (45.5%) and opposition (44.1%) were nearly tied.
Additionally, high support was observed among conservatives (73.5%), moderates (55.7%), students (59.3%), People Power Party supporters (79.0%), and People’s Party supporters (73.3%).
