Assemblyman Kim Mincheol stated, "The northern region of Gyeonggi has not developed properly due to various regulations," adding, "It has not been included in the national balanced development targets, and if this continues, it is clear that the situation will become even more severe."
He continued, "Through the public opinion survey, we confirmed that Gyeonggi Province residents widely recognize that the gap between the southern and northern regions is serious and that the establishment of Gyeonggi Bukdo is necessary to resolve the north-south disparity."
