Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced that it will begin accepting applications for 264 public jeonse housing units starting from the 10th.
'Public Jeonse Housing' refers to newly supplied housing under the jeonse policy announced by the government in November 2020. Tenants can live rent-free for up to six years by paying a rental deposit amounting to 80-90% of the market jeonse price. In the previous recruitment for 476 public jeonse units held in September last year, a total of 7,503 applicants applied, showing an average competition rate of 16:1. In the Seoul area, the competition rate was as high as 41:1, and contracts and move-ins are currently underway.
This time, a total of 264 units will be supplied, with 202 units in the Seoul metropolitan area including Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi, and 62 units in regional areas such as Daegu, Gwangju, and Gimhae. In the metropolitan area, 39 units will be supplied in Seocho, Nowon, and Gangdong districts of Seoul; 8 units in Namdong-gu, Incheon; and 155 units in Suwon, Anyang, Bucheon, and Uijeongbu cities in Gyeonggi Province. The usable area per unit (exclusive area plus balcony extension area) ranges from 55.19 to 116.87 square meters, and the rental deposit ranges from 130 million to 420 million KRW.
Applications are open to members of households without home ownership as of the announcement date (December 23, 2021), with no separate income or asset criteria. Households with three or more members qualify as first priority applicants, while those with two or fewer members qualify as second priority. Applicants can only apply within the recruitment area where their registered residence is located according to their resident registration certificate, and only one application per household is allowed.
