Police Vehicle Insurance Coverage Increased to 500 Million KRW for Property Damage and Auto Injury... Special Coverage Scope Also Expanded
"On-Site Police Officers Drive Vehicles with Confidence"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The coverage amount and scope of police vehicle insurance will be significantly increased. The purpose is to strengthen on-site response capabilities by allowing police officers in the field to operate vehicles with peace of mind.
The National Police Agency announced on the 10th that it will improve and implement police vehicle insurance this year, including increasing the property damage and automobile injury coverage amount to 500 million KRW.
As of last year, the basic property damage coverage for police vehicle insurance was 300 million KRW, and automobile injury coverage was 200 million KRW for death/disability and 30 million KRW for injury. This year, all of these have been significantly expanded to 500 million KRW.
The scope of special contract coverage has also been expanded. The special injury coverage for police officers on board has been extended to all police officers performing their duties, allowing compensation up to 500 million KRW for death/disability and 500 million KRW for injury for parts that were previously not compensated due to the prohibition of double compensation under the State Compensation Act. Additionally, accident coverage while operating vehicles under investigation or suspect status has been expanded to all employees of the National Police Agency operating other vehicles during duty.
