Yongin City Offers Up to 2 Million KRW Support for Switching Diesel Cars to LPG Cars
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will provide up to 2 million KRW in subsidies for replacing diesel vehicles and three types of construction machinery (dump trucks, concrete mixer trucks, concrete pump trucks) with LPG vehicles.
Yongin City announced on the 7th that it has allocated a budget of 70 million KRW this year to implement a support project for purchasing new LPG cargo vehicles to reduce air pollution caused by diesel vehicles and others.
The support scale is for 35 diesel vehicles, etc. Eligible applicants are individuals or organizations who have scrapped and deregistered diesel vehicles or the three types of construction machinery after December 1 of last year, or who have contracted or registered an LPG 1-ton cargo vehicle.
Vehicles equipped with particulate matter reduction devices can also apply if two years have passed since the date of structural modification.
Applications will be accepted starting from the 10th on a first-come, first-served basis until the budget is exhausted.
Those who wish to apply can download the application form from the 'City News' section on the city’s website, fill it out, and submit it by visiting the Climate Energy Division at City Hall or by mail.
Applications can also be made through the Ministry of Environment’s 'Vehicle Emission Grade System' website.

A city official emphasized, "We expect this support project to reduce the economic burden on citizens who need to replace their vehicles," adding, "We will continue to develop various support projects to provide citizens with a pleasant air environment."
