"Repeal of Quarantine Pass for Adults Demanded"... Ongoing Administrative Lawsuits
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] Lawsuits demanding the suspension of the government's quarantine pass (vaccination certificate and negative test confirmation system) policy are continuously being filed.
The National Parents' Association Coalition and the Anti-Vaccine Pass National Lawsuit Coalition held a press conference in front of the Seoul Administrative Court on the 6th, urging, "Immediately withdraw the quarantine pass that infringes on the basic rights of all citizens," and filed an administrative lawsuit to cancel the government's quarantine pass order along with a request for suspension of execution.
They raised their voices, saying, "More than 3,000 citizens have applied for administrative lawsuits opposing the vaccine pass," and added, "While vaccination recommendations may be appropriate, coercion on citizens' bodies cannot be justified."
So far, including scheduled cases, a total of four applications have been filed requesting the suspension of the quarantine pass's effectiveness. Earlier, on the 17th of last month, parent groups such as the Together Private Education Coalition filed a main lawsuit and a request for suspension of execution at the Seoul Administrative Court, demanding the suspension of the quarantine pass's effectiveness for youth-use facilities such as academies, reading rooms, and study cafes. The court accepted this on the 4th and suspended the effectiveness until the main judgment.
On the 31st of last month, 1,023 current doctors and others knocked on the court's door, requesting the suspension of the entire quarantine pass's effectiveness. The court will hold a hearing on the 7th to review the arguments of both sides.
