Fire in Vacant Room at Jongno-gu Luxury Hotel... Over 20 Evacuated
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] On the 5th at around 6:31 PM, a fire broke out in a vacant room on the 9th floor of a luxury hotel located in Susong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, causing dozens of people in the building to evacuate.
According to the fire authorities, the fire burned some furnishings inside the room but did not spread to other rooms. Since there was no one in the room, there were no injuries, and about 20 to 30 people evacuated.
The fire department dispatched 64 personnel and 20 pieces of equipment to the scene, and the fire was extinguished at around 7:05 PM, about 30 minutes after it started.
