Jangseong-gun 'Transparent PET Bottle Separate Disposal' Promotion

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is strengthening public awareness on the separate disposal of transparent PET bottles.

According to the county on the 5th, transparent PET bottles, mainly used for water or beverage containers, have very high recycling value as they contain no impurities, unlike colored PET bottles.

The government is focusing on increasing resource utilization by mandating the separate disposal of transparent PET bottles.

Recently, related guidelines (Guidelines on the Separate Collection of Recyclable Resources) were revised to expand the scope of separate disposal of transparent PET bottles from multi-family housing to single-family homes.

The county has installed a total of 59 separate disposal stands for transparent PET bottles to enable residents to conveniently participate in collection.

Additionally, related information has been posted on the website and community newsletters, and cooperation letters were sent to towns and townships to convey the guidelines to village residents through village chief meetings and village broadcasts.

A county official said, “The small actions of each resident come together to create a great force that enables environmental improvement and resource recycling,” and added, “We ask for active participation.”
