Imsil-gun Commits to Leap into the '600 Billion Won Budget Era and 10 Million Tourism'
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is starting a vigorous leap toward the era of a 600 billion won budget and ten million tourists, surpassing 500 billion won, with the spirit of ‘Hosiuhang (虎視牛行)’.
County Governor Sim Min began the new year with a visit to Sochungsa Shrine on the 3rd, saying, “With the single-minded determination of Hosiuhang (虎視牛行), I will lead the county government to grow and develop one step further with boldness and bravery.”
He continued, “Last year, we secured the largest-ever national funds, surpassed 500 billion won in the initial budget for the first time, and realized a 500 billion won budget for three consecutive years. Although it was only about 280 billion won at the beginning of the 6th elected term, we kept our promise to the residents to reach 500 billion won within the term.”
He added, “Now, with the belief to open the era of a 600 billion won budget, I will steadily and confidently move forward focusing solely on the residents. Achieving 500 billion won was a difficult task, but since we accomplished it, realizing a 600 billion won budget will also become a reality, not just a dream.”
In particular, he strongly declared the era of ten million tourists in Imsil through the great transformation of the Seomjingang Renaissance.
Governor Sim said, “This year is a meaningful year with the opening of the suspension bridge at Okjeongho, the treasure of Jeollabuk-do. We will realize ten million tourists through a tourism belt linking Okjeongho, Cheese Theme Park, Seongsusan, Osu Uigyeon Tourist Site, and the World Famous Dog Theme Land.”
The county plans to widely promote the beginning of the Seomjingang Renaissance nationwide and create the nation’s best waterfront ecological park by steadily pushing forward projects such as the 2nd phase Seomjingang Eco Museum and Yosan Park tourism resource development.
▲ Making Imsil N Cheese a food and tourism attraction ▲ Developing a World Famous Dog Theme Land tourism site based on the historical value of Osu Uigyeon, fostering a ‘companion animal industry hub’ ▲ Establishing the 2nd Osu Agricultural Industrial Complex specialized in the companion animal industry ▲ Accelerating the development of Seongsusan Ecological Forest tourism are also planned.
In addition, efforts will be focused on creating a pleasant residential environment and expanding efficient public infrastructure through ▲ Urban regeneration and activation of living SOC ▲ Expansion of specialized agriculture, 4th industry, and New Deal ▲ Disaster and crisis response and strengthening welfare safety nets.
Governor Sim said, “The county, which was once a barren land for tourism, will now lead Jeonbuk tourism and emerge as a key agenda attracting everyone’s attention. We will concentrate all administrative power on the era of a 600 billion won budget solely for the residents.”
