View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 29th that Kim Sam-jin, Dean of the Dance Department at Korea National University of Arts, has been appointed as the new non-executive chairman of the Traditional Performing Arts Promotion Foundation. The term of the new chairman is three years.
Chairman Kim Sam-jin, a Korean dancer, has been serving as a professor at the Dance Department of Korea National University of Arts since 1997, nurturing future talents and striving to establish a foundation for specialized dance education. He has also presented numerous creative dance works such as "Banyasim-gyeong," "Kim Sam-jin's Book of the Dead," and "Chuljeong."
Established to develop and promote traditional performing arts, the Traditional Performing Arts Promotion Foundation opened the Traditional Performing Arts Creative Maru in August 2020 to revitalize creation in the field of traditional performing arts and enhance self-sustainability.
