Jeonnam Province, Gurye County, and Nava Production Group Co., Ltd. Sign 33.7 Billion KRW Investment Agreement
Creation of a Year-Round Ski Resort and Santa Village Tourism Leisure Theme Park in Gurye-gun
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeonnam Province, Gurye County, and Nava Production Group Co., Ltd. announced on the 29th that they have signed an investment agreement to create the ‘Santa’s Adventure Theme Park’ utilizing the natural resources of Gurye County.
The investment agreement was made with the attendance of key officials including Kim Sunho, Governor of Gurye County, Joo Taesu, Chairman of Nava Production Group Co., Ltd., and CEO Won Ilryeong.
Nava Production Group Co., Ltd. plans to invest approximately 33.7 billion KRW in a 128,000㎡ site in Yongbang-myeon, Gurye County, to develop Santa’s Adventure Theme Park, which will link sports and tourism facilities such as a year-round ski resort, lodging facilities, Santa Village, and a pet park.
The goal is to complete the entire project by 2026.
Starting from the first half of next year, the project will be actively promoted with related permits and approvals, and it is expected to create 106 new jobs upon completion.
Kim Sunho, Governor of Gurye County, said, “We hope that this investment agreement will help Gurye County emerge as a hub for leisure tourism, and we will provide wholehearted support to ensure the project is invested as planned.”
Joo Taesu, Chairman of Nava Production Group Co., Ltd., said, “We will do our best to create synergy by linking the year-round ski resort and Santa Village with the surrounding tourist resources of Gurye and attract more tourists.”
Meanwhile, Nava Production Group Co., Ltd. signed an exclusive domestic contract in June this year with Britain Engineering, the patent holder of the year-round ski brand Snow Flex.
Snow Flex is installed and operated in 37 locations across 8 countries worldwide, and it is planned to be installed for the first time in Korea in Gurye County, allowing people to enjoy year-round skiing using existing ski equipment.
