Barogo Provides a Total of 300 Million KRW in COVID-19 Support Funds to Riders and Store Owners
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Startup Barogo announced on the 29th that it has paid a total of 300 million KRW in COVID-19 support funds to riders and store owners.
Since February last year, Barogo has been operating the ▲Self-quarantine Livelihood Support Fund ▲Vaccination Support Fund ▲Sincerity Support Fund programs sequentially to support riders and store owners who have protected the health of the public by providing delivery services despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19.
The Self-quarantine Livelihood Support Fund was established to help the livelihood of riders who were confirmed with COVID-19 or subject to self-quarantine. Barogo provided about 65 million KRW to approximately 130 riders who were confirmed with COVID-19 or showed suspected symptoms and received self-quarantine orders from health authorities.
The Vaccination Support Fund was promoted to assist riders who postponed vaccination to maintain their livelihood or could not rest even after vaccination. So far, a support fund of 50,000 KRW per person has been delivered to a total of about 3,900 riders who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Barogo created the Sincerity Support Fund program to select hubs with a high proportion of riders applying for the Vaccination Support Fund each month and provide support funds to stores contracted with those hubs. This was established to convey the sincerity of riders who want to protect not only themselves but also store owners and customers' health and trust through COVID-19 vaccination. So far, a total of about 590 stores have received the support funds.
The Vaccination Support Fund and Sincerity Support Fund programs will operate until the end of this month, while the Self-quarantine Livelihood Support Fund will be maintained until further notice.
