Imsil-gun Selected for 'Urban Regeneration Preliminary Project' Led by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport

[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Shim Min) announced on the 28th that Imsil-eup Ido District was selected as a preliminary urban regeneration project site for 2022 at the 29th Urban Regeneration Special Committee hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

In October, the county applied for the contest with "A Full Bloom of Imsil where Movies and Music Excite" in Ido-ri, Imsil-eup, and last month, after preliminary eligibility screening and presentation evaluation, it was finally selected for the preliminary urban regeneration project.

With this project selection, a total project budget of 310 million KRW will be invested in the Ido-ri area of Imsil-eup for one year starting next year, including 155 million KRW in national funds and 155 million KRW in local funds.

In particular, from next year, only regions that have experienced preliminary urban regeneration projects can participate in the new Urban Regeneration New Deal project contest, making it essential to carry out this project.

This project provides residents with an opportunity to promote small-scale point regeneration projects that can be completed within a short period (one year).

It will be promoted as a project to expand resident participation governance and strengthen the capacity to promote community-centered urban regeneration projects.

The project plans to enhance resident capabilities with a cultural and artistic urban regeneration concept, including ▲ Imsil’s Small but Certain Happiness Project where movies and music flow ▲ Training and capacity building project for “Imssi’s House Repair Expert” ▲ “The Day You Go is Market Day” Imsil Market 1970 Reboot Project.

Previously, last year, the county also laid the foundation for urban regeneration projects by having the resident capacity-building program themed on pets, “Gaepaljaga Sangpaljayeo~” in Osu-myeon, selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s “2020 First Half Small-scale Regeneration Project.”

As part of the small-scale regeneration project, resident-centered policies such as pet beautician (grooming), pet food manager, and pet funeral coordinator professional training were also promoted.

Across the pet-related projects linked to Osu’s legendary tales, local residents and administration have jointly promoted the projects, receiving favorable reviews.

Based on the achievements of these small-scale regeneration projects, the county plans to actively promote the Urban Regeneration New Deal project.

Governor Shim Min said, “The selection of the Ido District preliminary urban regeneration project was possible thanks to the active participation of residents,” and added, “We will actively promote the preliminary project and do our best to be selected for the Urban Regeneration New Deal project contest in the future.”
