The Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT) announced on the 28th at the aT Center in Seoul that it held a 'Celebration Event for Achieving 10 Billion Dollar Agricultural and Marine Food Exports' and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding exports toward becoming a strong export nation in agricultural and marine food products. Agricultural and marine food exports have exceeded 10 billion dollars for the first time in 50 years since statistics began in 1971. Exports are expected to reach 11.4 billion dollars by the end of the year, a 15% increase compared to last year's 9.8 billion dollars.
aT is a public institution dedicated to agricultural and marine food exports, providing comprehensive support from production, sorting, processing, packaging, logistics, customs clearance, to overseas marketing. Through organization and scaling, it has established a stable export foundation and has increased K-FOOD awareness in overseas markets through both online and offline marketing.
This year, to overcome the COVID-19 situation, the export support system was swiftly converted to a digital format. Despite difficulties caused by the paralysis of shipping and air logistics due to the pandemic lasting over a year, aT secured dedicated shipping space for agricultural and marine food exports through HMM and showed prompt responses such as supporting the operation of a dedicated strawberry flight through a business partnership with Korean Air.
