Netmarble Establishes ESG Management Committee... Appoints CEO Kwon Young-sik as Chairman
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Netmarble announced on the 28th that it has established an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Management Committee to strengthen ESG management.
The committee serves as a deliberative and decision-making body for ESG policies and key matters, acting as the control tower for ESG management. The committee includes Chairman and CEO Kwon Young-sik, Executive Director (CFO) Do Ki-wook, and Senior Director Kim Sung-chul.
Under the committee, an ESG management office, which is a dedicated ESG task force, will operate. The ESG management office supports the ESG Management Committee together with internal ESG-related departments as well as external advisory groups from academia, corporations, and NGOs.
Netmarble plans to publish its first "Sustainability Management Report," which contains ESG management directions and specific activity indicators, within the first quarter of next year.
Even before establishing the ESG Management Committee, Netmarble has been conducting various activities for sustainable management. The new headquarters building, G-Tower, which was occupied this year, utilizes a building-integrated solar power generation system and fuel cell system to increase the proportion of renewable energy. G-Tower was also certified with the highest grade in the 2020 Green Building Certification and received the 1+ grade for building energy efficiency.
