Gwangju Seo-gu 'Urban Park Autonomous Management Excellence Group Award Ceremony' Held

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) recently evaluated the organizations participating in the ‘Urban Park Autonomous Management Project,’ where residents themselves cultivate and manage parks around their living areas to create pleasant and safe parks, and held an awards ceremony for outstanding organizations.

According to Seo-gu on the 27th, this year, 34 organizations including the Saemaeul Women's Association participated in the management project, carrying out activities such as restroom cleaning, park environment maintenance, facility inspections, and disinfection efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in a total of 37 parks.

Seo-gu conducted evaluations three times to encourage active participation and motivation among these urban park autonomous management organizations, selecting 14 organizations with excellent performance for awards.

A Seo-gu official stated, “By having local residents directly manage and cultivate parks around their living areas, not only is the local community revitalized, but a resident-led park management culture is also taking root. We will work together with these organizations to make urban parks greener and more beautiful.”
