"Cheated on Me" - 40s Given Suspended Sentence for Assaulting and Detaining Partner with a Weapon

A assaulted his lover, whom he had been dating for one year, at his home in Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, last January, suspecting infidelity, hitting her face and head with his fists and threatening her with a weapon, confining her on the veranda for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
In September, he also assaulted his lover at the same place, throwing a wine bottle and soju glass, causing injuries.

Judge Kim stated, “Considering the severity of the victim’s injuries and the bad nature of the crime, as well as the fact that all parties reached an agreement, I take into account both favorable and unfavorable circumstances and various sentencing factors to determine the sentence.”
