[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon sharply criticized Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, for his remarks about "Kim Geon-hee's informal speech," saying, "Leader Song is clumsily trying to set up a framing operation."
On the 23rd, former professor Jin said on CBS Radio's 'One Round Match,' "They are trying to push it that way, but there needs to be some degree of plausibility," criticizing the remarks.
Earlier, on the 22nd, Leader Song said on BBS Radio's 'Park Kyung-soo's Morning Journal' regarding Kim Geon-hee, the wife of Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, "It is known among the public that Kim is the real power, and there are stories that Kim spoke informally to Candidate Yoon even in private," adding, "If they actually come to power, we all worry that she will shake the real power even more than Choi Seo-won."
In response, former professor Jin strongly criticized, "Among married couples in South Korea, who doesn't speak informally? Using that as a basis to create such a frame seems very pathetic to me."
Kim Seong-hoe, director of the political research institute ThinkY, who appeared on the broadcast that day, also delivered a sharp remark, saying, "Other people's family matters should be handled by themselves, so I hope others don't comment on them."

Director Kim pointed out, "One might frown upon a husband speaking informally and a wife using honorifics in a high-handed manner, but there is a social context built up between them," adding, "In some households, mutual honorifics are used, and in others, both speak informally. It is a matter for the couple to decide, and it is uncomfortable for outsiders to talk about it."
