Jeju Fire Headquarters Receives Top A Grade in '119 Disaster Situation Management Evaluation'
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters received the highest A grade in the 2021 National 119 Disaster Situation Management Evaluation hosted by the National Fire Agency.
According to Jeju Fire Department on the 22nd, this evaluation is conducted by the National Fire Agency targeting 19 city and provincial fire headquarters nationwide, assessing the 119 situation management and response process for disasters involving 'response level 1 or higher or two or more fatalities.'
The evaluation is divided by metropolitan cities and provinces, focusing on ▲the speed and accuracy of initial and major situation reports ▲appropriateness of radio control and disaster video utilization ▲comprehensive judgment and reporting appropriateness in situation management.
Jeju Fire Department received an A grade by earning high scores through prompt and accurate situation assessment and reporting, and organic situation management via joint response with related organizations.
On April 6th, when a four-vehicle collision involving a bus and a cargo truck occurred at the intersection near Jeju National University entrance, they played a significant role in minimizing damage through efficient situation management, including prompt reporting and coordinated joint response with related organizations (disaster medical support team, police, etc.).
Yang Inseok, head of the 119 Comprehensive Situation Room, said, “We will do our best to secure the golden time for all disaster responses through prompt and accurate command and reporting, and organic situation control.”
