[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon raised his voice regarding the false career allegations surrounding Kim Geon-hee, the spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, saying, "First, acknowledge the fact of career forgery, apologize, and then it is the right path to calmly explain any false or exaggerated reports later."
On the 19th, former professor Jin posted on his Facebook, stating, "The issue is not that a mistake was made, but how it is handled once the fact is revealed," and added, "Those who speak of fairness should hold themselves to even stricter standards."
He continued, "Among the allegations raised by the Democratic Party regarding Ms. Kim, some may be fake, and among the allegations raised by the media, some may be exaggerated," but explained, "However, this should be seen as a natural process of verification. Do people only raise suspicions based on confirmed facts? That is why even if a disclosure is false, the law does not punish it if it serves the public interest and there was a reasonable belief in its truth."
Former professor Jin emphasized, "The important thing is that the problematic career claims were absurdly exaggerated and are substantially false," and added, "The problem is that they refuse to acknowledge this and instead highlight only the excessive parts of the opponent's attacks, insisting that the false career is partially true. The past cannot be changed now. The only thing that can be changed is the current attitude."
