Hwasun-gun Invests 111.2 Billion KRW in 'Sewerage Project' 추진
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 16th that it will actively promote sewerage projects such as the ‘Sapyeong District Old Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project’ by investing 111.2 billion KRW (66.6 billion KRW in national funds) by 2023.
As ongoing projects, the county is currently implementing 11 projects worth 100.2 billion KRW, including ▲3 sewer pipeline maintenance projects (45.9 billion KRW) ▲2 sewage treatment plant expansion projects (10.3 billion KRW) ▲5 village sewer maintenance projects (39.6 billion KRW) ▲Dong-myeon public wastewater improvement project (4.4 billion KRW).
They plan to renovate and newly install aging and efficiency-declined public sewage treatment facilities and sewer pipelines to improve sewerage infrastructure.
For new projects next year, they secured a budget of 11 billion KRW for ▲Sapyeong District Old Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project (7 billion KRW) and ▲Small-scale Sewage Treatment Facility Improvement Project (4 billion KRW), and are carrying out administrative procedures for detailed design services to ensure timely progress.
The county has made continuous efforts to secure government budgets in the sewerage sector by applying for partial amendments to the basic sewerage maintenance plan reflecting the expansion of sewage treatment areas and improvement of sewage treatment plants, timely implementation of various technical and safety diagnosis services, and striving to gain an advantage in competition with other local governments.
A county official said, “Once the sewerage projects are completed, the water quality in public areas will be preserved, greatly contributing to enhancing the clean image of Hwasun and revitalizing the local economy,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to create a livable and prestigious Hwasun through discovering new projects and efficient sewerage management.”
