Recycling Waste PET Collected at Schools... Lotte Chem, Incheon, and Environmental Federation Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Lotte Chemical signed a business agreement on the 15th with the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education and the Incheon Environmental Movement Federation to promote a resource culture for waste plastics.
According to this agreement, waste PET collection machines will be installed in about 20 schools in Incheon, and a process will be established to provide the collected waste PET bottles to companies engaged in related recycling businesses. The Incheon Office of Education and the Environmental Movement Federation will work to improve awareness of resource circulation and foster a proper waste separation culture by creating and operating resource circulation education programs.

Lotte Chemical has been conducting Project LOOP since early last year, aimed at increasing recycled plastic materials and improving recycling culture. Kim Gyo-hyun, CEO of Lotte Chemical, said, "This project is more meaningful as it targets future generations, and we will continue to support the expansion and establishment of a resource circulation culture."
