Groundbreaking of the Energy Innovation Hub 'Gyeongnam Changwon Green Energy Center'

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 13th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam held the 'Gyeongnam Changwon Green Energy Center Groundbreaking Ceremony' at the Dongjeon General Industrial Complex in Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by An Kyung-won, Changwon City's 1st Deputy Mayor, Cho Hyun-jun, Director of the Industrial Innovation Bureau of Gyeongnam Province, Park Min-won, Director of the dedicated agency Gyeongnam Changwon Smart Green Industrial Complex, Lee Wang-jae, BU Head of the main contractor SK Eco Plant, and other participating organization officials.
The Green Energy Center is part of the 'Energy Self-Sufficiency Infrastructure Construction Project' jointly promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Gyeongnam Province, and Changwon City. Upon completion, it is expected to become a renewable energy production hub with 2.8 MW of solar power, 1.8 MW of demand fuel cells, 3 MWh of ESS, 74 kW of V2G, and water electrolysis facilities.
In addition to establishing renewable energy infrastructure, a green energy exhibition hall will be built to provide space for future energy education. The project also plans to establish an RE100 support system for export companies and expand the project scope in anticipation of increased corporate demand.
The project involves SK Eco Plant, SK C&C, SK D&D, Gridwiz, Nuriplex, Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute, and Korea Testing Laboratory.
