Improvement in Scores for Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in Work Processes, and Anti-Corruption Systems
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Cha Min-sik) announced on the 9th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the Public Institution Integrity Survey conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission annually measures the integrity level of public institutions by surveying citizens and internal employees who have experience working with the institutions, and announces ratings (on a 5-grade scale).
According to the detailed evaluation results, the Authority improved its scores in all external integrity evaluation items compared to the previous year, and internal integrity scores also increased in areas such as transparency and accountability in work processing, and anti-corruption systems.
With this result, the Authority has achieved a grade 2 or higher in all categories (comprehensive integrity, external integrity, internal integrity) for three consecutive years since 2019.
Additionally, the Authority declared this year as the Year of Ethical Management and has carried out various activities to strengthen transparency in work processing, such as holding integrity meetings with port stakeholders and expanding the disclosure of anti-corruption information to the public.
Meanwhile, President Cha Min-sik of the Authority said, “Achieving excellent institution status for three consecutive years in the integrity survey is the result of efforts by all executives and employees,” and added, “We will continue to build a more trusted Authority by the public through honest work performance and active improvement of corruption-prone areas.”
