[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Democratic Party lawmaker Go Min-jung fired back at People Power Party lawmaker Hong Joon-pyo, who criticized her, asking, "Why did you lose after only four months in politics?"
On the 8th, Go appeared on YTN Radio's 'Hwang Bo-seon's Start of a New Morning' and responded this way when the host asked, "What kind of comment would you leave in response to Hong's criticism?"
Earlier, Hong had harshly criticized Go in response to a question posted on the online platform 'Youth's Dream,' created to communicate with young people, on the 'Cheongmun Hongdap (Hong Joon-pyo answers youth concerns)' board, asking, "What do you think of lawmaker Go?" He called her "someone who only has unnecessary worries."
In response, Go said, "Then why did you lose to someone with only four months in politics? I will keep my answer brief." This was a jab at Hong's defeat to presidential candidate Yoon Seok-youl, a political newcomer, in the People Power Party's presidential primary.
When asked about the appearance of Yoon's wife, Kim Geon-hee, Go said, "She should naturally appear. As the wife of the president, she must fulfill her role as First Lady and play a significant diplomatic role in numerous summits with other heads of state." She added, "Of course, verification is necessary, and I believe that without her appearance going forward, Yoon does not qualify as a presidential candidate."

She continued, "If she herself feels fully qualified as the wife of the presidential candidate and as the First Lady of the Republic of Korea, there is absolutely no reason to hide. The longer time passes, the more disadvantageous it will be for her, so if I were to give advice, it would be better for her to come forward as soon as possible, even if just one day earlier."
