Gwangju Seo-gu Secures 2.6 Billion KRW in Special Grants... Momentum for Current Projects
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 8th that it has secured 2.6 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the second half of this year.
The special grants secured this time will be invested in a total of five projects: four local pending projects including ▲Construction of Yudeok-dong Beodeul Village Multipurpose Center (500 million KRW) ▲Improvement of aging facilities in Unri, Majae, and Geumho parks (500 million KRW) ▲Repair of aging facilities at Seo-gu Cultural Center (500 million KRW) ▲Maintenance of Matgoeul, Seogwang, and Nongsung parks (800 million KRW), and one disaster safety project ▲Sewer pipeline maintenance in the Uncheon-ro area (300 million KRW).
Seo-gu plans to create a living culture center and a health living support center through the construction of the Yudeok-dong Beodeul Village Multipurpose Center, providing a place for resident communication and harmony, as well as offering resident-centered health management services.
In addition, by improving the aging facilities of the Seo-gu Cultural Center, which is frequently used by most residents, and maintaining the aging park facilities, Seo-gu aims to create a pleasant rest and cultural space that all residents can safely use, thereby contributing to the promotion of leisure activities.
Seo Dae-seok, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “We will continue to do our best to secure the necessary resources for the promotion of pending projects through close and organic cooperation and communication with the government and local members of the National Assembly, to ensure the stability of residents’ lives and improve their convenience.”
