Krafton Invests 7.1 Billion KRW in Middle Eastern 'Tamatem Games'
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Krafton announced on the 7th that it has invested $6 million (approximately 7.1 billion KRW) in the Middle Eastern company Tamateem Games.
Krafton led the Series B round of Tamateem Games, attracting a total investment of $11 million (approximately 13 billion KRW). In addition to Krafton, companies such as Venture Souq and Endeavor Catalyst also invested.
Founded in 2013, Tamateem Games is one of the top three mobile game publishers in the Middle East. It offers a variety of Arabic mobile games. Currently, it publishes more than 50 mobile games, has recorded over 100 million downloads, and has secured 1 million monthly active users (MAU).
Krafton is expanding its business opportunities into new gaming markets such as the Middle East and Africa, starting with India. Through establishing a subsidiary in India, making large-scale investments, and fostering an esports environment, Krafton is strengthening its position in the Indian market. By leading the investment in Tamateem Games, Krafton has begun targeting the Arab market.
