[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Lotte Department Store is launching a large-scale wine event for the year-end. With more than 20% of annual wine sales concentrated at year-end, they have selected the 'Top 5' premium wines and best value wines respectively to introduce to customers along with price discounts.
On the 6th, Lotte Department Store announced that it will present the 'Buyer Recommended Top 10 Wines,' selected by wine specialist buyers (merchandisers) who analyzed customer purchase data. This month, they will also hold special sales on old vintage wines and limited edition wine events.
The top 5 best value wines selected are Quinta Collezione (Italy), Demartino Legado Cabernet Sauvignon (Chile), Sasseo Primitivo (Italy), Invivo Sarah Jessica Parker Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand), and De Chanceny Cr?mant Loire Brut NV (France). These are daily wines priced between 30,000 and 50,000 KRW that have been most loved this year, carefully chosen for their high cost-effectiveness across red, white, and sparkling wines.
The top 5 premium wines recommended are Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (USA), Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (USA), Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz (Australia), Pierre Gimonnet Special Club Grand Terroir Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs 2014 (France), and Piper Heidsieck Rare (France). This selection includes wines from renowned American cult wine producers, highly rated red wines by famous evaluation agencies (Wine Spectator), and luxurious boutique champagnes.
Lotte Department Store will hold a special sale on old vintage wines and introduce limited edition wines available only at Lotte Department Store. Until the 31st, a special exhibition of first-growth vintage wines from the Bordeaux wine region in France will be held. Customers can purchase '5 Major Ch?teau' vintage wines including Ch?teau Latour 2004 and 2013, and Ch?teau Lafite Rothschild 2001 and 2002, at prices discounted by more than 20% from the usual event prices. These will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to one bottle each at Lotte Department Store’s main branch, Jamsil branch, Gangnam branch, Incheon Terminal branch, and Dongtan branch wine shops. Detailed information can be found through the Lotte Department Store app and in-store notices.
In line with the release of the movie 'Kingsman: The First Agent,' Lotte Department Store will exclusively sell the 'Kingsman Century Edition 1919,' a limited release of 500 bottles worldwide. This is a 100-year oak-aged vintage wine produced by the Portuguese winery 'Jos? Maria da Fonseca,' which has a history of about 200 years. It offers a smooth and balanced acidity, rich fruit flavors, and a fresh sweetness that creates a deep and intense finish. Only about 20 bottles will be allocated to Korea, and it can be purchased exclusively through 100% pre-order at Lotte Department Store until January 10 next year.
