[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The ‘2021 ICT Mentoring Expo,’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and organized by the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), will be held online on the 3rd through the ICT Mentoring Expo website.
The ICT Mentoring Expo is an event where outstanding university-industry cooperation achievements by university students, carried out through three projects?Autonomous Haneum, Social Contribution Pro Bono, and Women-Specialized Eve?can be viewed at a glance. The event will feature an awards ceremony, a presentation of achievements with popular YouTubers, and special lectures, all broadcast live, allowing participants to interact remotely.
For this expo, a total of 499 teams applied to the ICT Mentoring Contest held since July. After the first document screening, second in-depth evaluation, and final comprehensive evaluation, 195 teams were selected. These teams planned and executed their projects over approximately seven months. MSIT and IITP plan to support the publication of outstanding achievements in academic journals and the registration of developed software and mobile apps.
Since its inception in 2004, ICT Mentoring has been a program that supports young university students to gain practical experience by forming teams with experts in the information and communication industry to carry out practical tasks under close guidance. It has contributed to expanding the base of talent in information and communication fields such as software and artificial intelligence.
