Gwangyang-si Selected for 'Jeollanam-do 2022 Forest Trail Development Project'
Creation of Forest Trails to Expand Urban Forest Infrastructure
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it has secured a project budget of 1 billion KRW (500 million KRW from the province, 500 million KRW from the city) after being selected for the "Jeollanam-do 2022 Forest Trail Creation Project" with the "Seonghwang Walkable Urban Forest Trail Creation Project."
The "2022 Walkable Urban Forest Trail Creation Project" is a project to create a beautiful and vibrant forest walking trail by planting various trees in Seonghwang Neighborhood Park so that residents living in urban areas can stroll through the forest in their daily lives.
The city plans to thoroughly maintain and manage the trail by deploying professionals such as the Urban Park Management Team operated by the Park Management Division to continuously provide beautiful forest trails to citizens.
Jung Sang-beom, Director of Parks, said, "Through this project, we will expand forest infrastructure within the urban living area, establish advanced residential conditions, and create a space that satisfies the increasing demand for forest welfare in the With-Corona era."
He added, "We will do our best to provide and maintain walkable forest trails for visitors and citizens."
