Gwangju Seo-gu to Recruit 5,644 Participants for Senior Job Program Next Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) announced on the 1st that it will recruit a total of 5,644 people for the ‘Next Year Senior Job Project’ from the 1st to the 14th to provide social participation opportunities for the elderly and increase income for the elderly.
This project includes public interest activities, social service types, market-type business groups, and employment referral types. The participation conditions for each target project are as follows: for the public interest activity type, applicants must be basic pension recipients aged 65 or older residing in Seo-gu; for the market-type business group, applicants must be residents of Seo-gu aged 60 or older and can apply depending on the conditions.
Elderly individuals wishing to participate can visit the administrative welfare center in their residential district to apply by the 14th.
The selection results will be individually notified by the 31st after qualification verification and interviews.
Those excluded from applying include recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act and those participating in two or more job projects promoted by government ministries or local governments, which can be confirmed in the recruitment announcement.
A Seo-gu official said, “We will do our best to create quality senior jobs that reflect the retirement of the baby boomer generation and the diversified characteristics of the elderly population, to increase the basic living income of vulnerable elderly people, and to promote a substantial senior job project.”
