Along the Old Suin Line Tracks, 'Incheon Dosibaramgil Forest' Completed... Approximately 1.5km
Created 32 Sites Over 3 Years of the 7th Local Government Term... Equivalent to 42 Soccer Fields
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The 'Urban Wind Path Forest' in Incheon, created along the old Suin Line railway, was completed on the 30th.
The Urban Wind Path Forest, located in Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol-gu, was developed along a 1.5km stretch of railway from Suing Station on the Suin Line to the Inha University Station intersection, covering an area of 16,000㎡.
Equipped with grass block paths, loess-paved paths, a Metasequoia path, and exercise facilities, it provides citizens with a nature-friendly leisure space.
The Urban Wind Path Forest project promoted by Incheon City serves to bring cool and clean air generated from forests and other natural features on the outskirts of the city into the urban area, thereby reducing fine dust and mitigating the heat island effect.
The city plans to invest 20 billion KRW by next year to create urban forests covering 180,000㎡ across 13 locations throughout Incheon. Previously, from 2019 to this year, the city established a total of 32 urban forests, equivalent to the size of 42 soccer fields.
