Three-term lawmaker Kim Tae-ho stated on Facebook on the 30th, "It is time for the candidate to demonstrate leadership. The candidate's eyes and ears must not be blinded," adding, "I hope the people's desire for regime change is never forgotten even for a moment."
Kim Tae-ho emphasized, "This presidential election is by no means an easy one," and added, "This is not a game that can be won by just removing the car and cannon."
He continued, "If even the party leader loses their place, how does the party intend to conduct the presidential election?" and urged, "I hope everyone refrains from speaking and exercises restraint."
Earlier, party leader Lee Jun-seok canceled all scheduled events for the day. Amid the controversy over being passed over in the campaign committee appointments and schedule, Lee posted on Facebook the previous day, "^^If so, this is the end." This has led to speculation that Lee might take a 'major decision,' including resigning as co-chairman of the campaign committee or as party leader.
Regarding this, three-term lawmaker Ha Tae-kyung also said on the same day, "In this presidential election, Lee's role, symbolizing our party's political innovation and youth politics, is more important than anything else," adding, "The naive idea that we can win the presidential election without Lee is of no help to victory."
Ha further stated, "For victory in the presidential election, Lee's active role is necessary," and "It is very difficult for our party to win the presidential election without overwhelming support from the youth. In that regard, the recent controversy over Lee being passed over is very concerning."
Another three-term lawmaker, Kim Tae-heum, directed sharp criticism at Lee, Yoon, and other key figures, saying, "Why are the presidential candidate, party leader, and key campaign committee members acting like this?" and "The People Power Party is not your party alone."
