Korea Rail Network Authority Publishes 'Railway Stations of Korea' to Rediscover the Value of Railway Stations

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 30th that it will publish a storytelling book titled "Railway Stations of Korea," which narrates the significance of railway stations and the regions where they are located.
"Railway Stations of Korea" is published to convey to the public the history of railway stations, stories related to the stations and railways, as well as the origins, culture, and tourist resources of the regions in a storytelling format.
In particular, this booklet includes "Changes and Developments of Railway Stations by Era," which introduces the history of railway stations divided into the late Joseon period, Japanese colonial era, before and after the Korean War, industrialization era, and modern times, highlighting changes in architectural design.
The Rail Network Authority will release the "Railway Stations of Korea" content on its website on the 1st of next month. On the website, users can search by historical period, view the e-book, and download the booklet.

Kim Han-young, Director of the Rail Network Authority, said, "Railway Stations of Korea is published to re-examine the value of railway stations distributed across the country and to disseminate information about railway stations to the public," adding, "We hope this will serve as an opportunity for railway stations to take a step closer to the people as a growth engine for regions and as a center of regional culture."
