30s Mother Who Abandoned 4-Year-Old Daughter on the Street... Colluded with Man Met in Online Game
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] A woman in her 30s and a man in his 20s, who conspired after meeting through an online game to abandon a 4-year-old daughter on the roadside late at night, were arrested by the police.
On the 29th, the Women and Youth Investigation Unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency announced that they had urgently arrested Ms. A, a woman in her 30s, and Mr. B, a man in his 20s, on charges of abandonment under the Child Welfare Act.
Ms. A and others are suspected of forcing 4-year-old Ms. C out of a vehicle on a road in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, around 10 p.m. on the 26th, and then leaving her there.
Ms. A took Mr. B’s car and traveled about 30 km from Michuhol-gu, Incheon, to abandon Ms. C. The location where Ms. C was abandoned was near Mr. B’s residence, and the area recorded a low temperature of minus 1 degree Celsius that day, indicating cold weather.
After Ms. A and others left, a passerby found Ms. C crying and reported it to the police. Ms. C was handed over to her biological father by the police officers.
The police identified Ms. C’s identity through the daycare bag she was carrying and identified Ms. A as her biological mother. Following an investigation, on the 27th, the day after the crime, Ms. A and Mr. B were each arrested at different locations near the area where Ms. C was abandoned.
According to the investigation, Ms. A and Mr. B met through an online game and had known each other for about two months, but met face-to-face for the first time on the day of the crime.
