Gwangju Buk-gu Awarded 'Prime Minister's Award' for Excellence in Childcare in 2021 Government Honors
Recognition for Contributions to Strengthening Public Childcare, Improving Childcare Teachers' Treatment, and Creating a Safe Childcare Environment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 29th that it was selected as an excellent institution and will receive the 'Prime Minister's Award' as the only one in Gwangju City in the '2021 Childcare Merit Government Awards' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This childcare merit award is given to local governments that have contributed to the introduction and stable establishment of childcare projects.
Buk-gu received high scores in evaluation indicators such as ▲establishment and execution of childcare policies ▲expansion of public childcare facilities ▲improvement of childcare teachers' treatment ▲quality and safety management of daycare centers ▲model cases of childcare-related system improvements.
From 2019 to 2021, Buk-gu was selected for the public announcement of the national and public daycare center construction support project for three consecutive years, striving to create a safe and pleasant childcare environment.
By promoting the public building green remodeling project, Buk-gu is transforming 17 national and public daycare centers into green daycare centers through energy performance improvement and efficiency enhancement.
In addition, various policies such as online childcare Golden Bell, support for revitalizing open daycare centers, field trips and safety education for childcare staff are being promoted.
Mayor Moon said, "This award is the result of the joint efforts of childcare teachers and public officials who strive to provide high-quality services in the childcare field," and added, "We will continue to do our best to make Buk-gu a good place to give birth to and raise children."
Meanwhile, the government award ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 8th of next month.
