According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 28th, the first ice was observed at the official observation point in Unam-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, where the minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius was recorded early the previous morning.
This is 22 days later than last year (November 5) and 17 days later than the average year (November 10).
The Meteorological Administration explained that the ice formed due to increased surface cooling overnight and a significant drop in morning temperatures, especially inland.
