Gwangju Dong-gu Hosts Special Exhibitions at Art and History Museums
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced that it will hold a meaningful exhibition to wrap up the year, including a results sharing meeting following the support for the '2021 Art Museum and Museum Revitalization Project' on the 29th.
This event will bring together participating artists and officials from eight art museums and museums in the district to share results and impressions, and a special exhibition will be held from the 29th to December 2nd at the gallery on the first floor of the Dong-gu Miro Center.
The 'Art Museum and Museum Support Project' promoted by Dong-gu was newly established this year to boost the morale of local cultural artists and support private cultural infrastructure facilities such as art museums and museums. Recipients were selected and supported through a selective contest including planned exhibitions and product production types.
The special exhibitions supported by Dong-gu through this project this year include ▲Gukyun Art Museum's 'Sound of the Heart' ▲Deuyoung Art Museum's 'Selected Exhibition of Young Artists' ▲Mudeung Contemporary Art Museum's 'Mudeung Art Fantasia' ▲Bium Museum's 'May Table, May Lantern' ▲Woo Je-gil Art Museum's 'Yearning' ▲Eunam Art Museum's 'Twelve Zodiac Gods Print Exhibition' ▲Uijae Art Museum's 'Moonhyang, Listening to the Scent of Fate' ▲Jooan Art Museum's 'Nevertheless' among eight art museums and museum exhibitions.
Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, "This year, Dong-gu has actively supported policies to encourage local cultural artists who have been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to revitalize the cultural and artistic fields," adding, "We will continue to support the creative activities of local artists and strive to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy culture and arts."
