'Hellbound' Tops Netflix Weekly Viewing Chart
Maintains No.1 on FlixPatrol Rankings... Most Watched in 36 Countries
Director Yeon Sang-ho's "Hellbound" has topped the official Netflix viewing ranking. On the 23rd (local time), Netflix announced that this drama was the most streamed non-English TV program. The record for the week from the 15th is 43.48 million hours. It easily surpassed the recently rising Colombian drama "The Queen of Flow: Season 2 (38.64 million hours)" as well as the number one English TV program "Arcane (38.42 million hours)."
"Hellbound" also maintained its number one position in the Netflix TV program category on the online content service ranking site "FlixPatrol" on the same day. This site reflects 24-hour viewership rates by category for each platform and reports the previous day's rankings. "Hellbound" was the most streamed in 36 countries including South Korea, France, India, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan. It ranked third in the United States and the United Kingdom, and fourth in Russia.

"Hellbound" deals with a supernatural phenomenon where ordinary people receive a death sentence to hell from an unknown entity. It depicts the struggle between the cult-like religious group Saejinrihoe, which flourished amid social chaos, and those trying to uncover the truth. Director Yeon, who also made "Train to Busan," co-wrote the original webtoon with writer Choi Gyu-seok and led the adaptation into a video format. The cast includes Yoo Ah-in, Kim Hyun-joo, Park Jung-min, Won Jin-ah, Yang Ik-june, Kim Do-yoon, Kim Shin-rok, and Ryu Kyung-soo.
