Starbucks to Hold 'Carry the Merry Sharing Day' on 25th for Year-End Fundraising
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Starbucks Coffee Korea is launching the 'Carry the Merry Sharing Day' on November 25, a single day during which up to 500 million KRW will be raised based on the items purchased and stars earned by customers, to be donated to local communities in celebration of the upcoming Christmas season.
'Carry the Merry Sharing Day' is the second annual year-end fundraising event following last year, held on November 25?one month before Christmas?with the hope that memories made at Starbucks during the year-end will be delivered as warm sharing to local communities.
To commemorate the 22nd anniversary of Starbucks Korea's opening, on November 25, 220 KRW will be donated for each item sold at all Starbucks stores nationwide, and 220 KRW will be matched for each star earned by Starbucks Rewards members, creating the largest single donation event of the year with a total fund of 500 million KRW.
The raised funds will be delivered to 22 NGOs and local community organizations involved in Starbucks' key social contribution activities such as youth, environment, and cultural heritage, including the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, Heart-Heart Foundation, Resource Circulation Social Solidarity, Cultural Heritage National Trust, as well as nationwide talent donation cafes.
