Seoul National University Student Council Election Canceled Due to Low Voter Turnout
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] The regular student council election at Seoul National University, held every November, was canceled as the voter turnout did not exceed 50% even after extended voting.
On the 22nd, the Seoul National University Student Council Election Commission announced via Facebook, "Since the preliminary voter turnout did not exceed half, we inform you that the 5th round of voting for the 62nd Seoul National University Student Council has been canceled."
The voter turnout for this 5th round of voting was only 44.99%, falling short of half of the total registered members.

With the election being canceled three consecutive times based on the regular election criteria, and five times in total including re-elections, Seoul National University students will face the first semester of next year without a student council.
