Eastman is a U.S. petrochemical company that produces a wide range of products from packaging materials to advanced materials and chemical fibers. Through this agreement, Amorepacific will receive high-quality recycled plastics produced by Eastman.
In June 2021, Amorepacific revealed its five major commitments for sustainable management by 2030, pledging to apply recycled or bio-plastics to 30% of plastic packaging by 2030 as one of its promises to coexist with nature.
This agreement is one of the practical methods to fulfill that pledge. By securing high-quality recycled plastics, Amorepacific has laid the foundation to accelerate sustainable management and customer satisfaction.
The recycled plastics have received ISCC Plus certification, which is a representative means of proving the sustainability of eco-friendly bio products. In particular, it is an international certification system that complies with the European Union (EU)'s renewable energy directive, the strictest in the world, and is recognized as the most reliable institution in the eco-certification field due to its transparent evaluation criteria and rigorous certification procedures.
