Seongbuk-gu Office, Seongbuk Police Station, Jongam Police Station, and Private Youth Guidance and Protection Organizations (Youth Guidance Council, Seongbuk District Youth Development Association, Jongam District Youth Development Association) Jointly Conduct... Distribution of Stickers and Leaflets on 'Prohibition of Alcohol and Tobacco Sales to Youth' and Inspection of Compliance with Quarantine Rules in Establishments
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) conducted a 'Joint Campaign for Improving Harmful Environments for Youth by Civil, Government, and Police' on the 18th to prevent anticipated youth delinquency after the college entrance exam and to create a safe environment for youth.
This campaign was jointly carried out by Seongbuk-gu Office, Seongbuk Police Station, Jongam Police Station, and private youth guidance and protection organizations (Youth Guidance Council, Seongbuk District Youth Development Association, Jongam District Youth Development Association).
On the day, about 50 participants conducted a street campaign urging compliance with the Youth Protection Act, focusing on university areas within the district where crowds gather, such as Sungshin Women's University Station, Anam Station, and Wolgok Station. They visited businesses prohibited from selling harmful products to youth and those prohibited from employing youth, distributing stickers and leaflets stating 'Prohibition of Alcohol and Tobacco Sales to Youth' and 'Prohibition of Employment of Youth Under 19,' and also checked compliance with COVID-19 quarantine rules within the establishments.
The harmful environment campaign for youth before and after the college entrance exam, which has been underway since the 12th in each district area, will also be conducted in connection with the Youth Guidance Council and resident organizations at 18 community centers within Seongbuk-gu. Until the end of the year, focused guidance and crackdown campaigns will be carried out intensively in vulnerable areas of the Youth Protection Act, such as around elementary, middle, and high schools, downtown areas, and districts densely populated with harmful youth establishments.
