Kyungbok University to Award 4th Industrial Revolution Talent Scholarships to New Students Next Year
[Asia Economy (Namyangju) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kyungbok University will provide the 4th Industrial Revolution Talent Scholarship to new students next year.
Kyungbok University announced on the 19th that despite difficult financial conditions, it has decided to award the '4th Industrial Revolution Talent Scholarship' to new students next year to attract outstanding talent. However, some nursing and health-related departments are excluded.
Kyungbok University is making generous investments to ensure that enrolled students do not give up their studies due to tuition issues.
As of 2019, 93.8% of Kyungbok University students receive various scholarship benefits. The total scholarship amount is 25.9 billion KRW annually, one of the highest among universities in the Seoul metropolitan area. This amounts to 4,045,000 KRW per student.
Scholarship payments include internal scholarships, external scholarships, and benefits from government-supported projects.
In addition to scholarships, Kyungbok University operates a free overseas language training program for students to cultivate talent suited for the era of globalization. Every year, 360 students participate in a two-week program at MDIS University in Singapore, where they attend native speaker classes and experience local culture.
Kyungbok University also operates 43 free student shuttle buses, the highest level in the country, to facilitate commuting for students in major areas of the Seoul metropolitan region. There are 33 buses for the Namyangju campus and 10 for the Pocheon campus.
Furthermore, the university has eco-friendly dormitories with the latest facilities and various conveniences, accommodating 1,016 students at the Namyangju and Pocheon campuses.
Kyungbok University plans to build a second dormitory at the Namyangju campus with a capacity of 654 students.

A Kyungbok University official explained, "Kyungbok University operates an advanced major program for bachelor's degrees, allowing students to earn a bachelor's degree equivalent to that of a four-year university, and graduate school admission is also possible."
