[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] Hyundai Construction announced on the 19th that it plans to sell ‘Hillstate The Unjeong’ in the area of 1471-2,3 Wadong-dong, Unjeong New Town, Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do (F1-P1, P2 blocks). Among them, 2,669 residential officetel units (exclusive area 84㎡, 147㎡) within the complex will be preferentially sold this month.
The complex is a mammoth-scale mixed-use residential complex where apartments, officetels, cultural and assembly facilities, neighborhood living facilities, and retail facilities are all harmoniously integrated. It will be built with 13 buildings ranging from 5 basement floors to 49 above-ground floors, totaling 3,413 households (744 apartment units and 2,669 residential officetel units). Within the complex, ‘Starfield Village,’ a new community-type large-scale shopping space by ‘Shinsegae Property,’ will also be established.
The project site is adjacent to ‘Unjeong Lake Park,’ a local landmark of Paju Unjeong New Town, and the ecological stream ‘Soricheon,’ and is close to Unjeong Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, making it a highly preferred residential area. Additionally, development projects such as the GTX-A line (scheduled to open in 2024) and the extension of Subway Line 3 (planned) are underway, which is expected to greatly improve transportation conditions.

The GTX-A line, starting from Paju Unjeong and passing through the Gangnam area to Hwaseong Dongtan, is under development with Unjeong Station (tentative name, scheduled to open in 2024). Once this line opens, travel time from Unjeong Station to Seoul Station will be shortened to about 20 minutes.
In July, the extension project of Subway Line 3 to Unjeong, confirmed and announced in the ‘4th National Railroad Network Construction Plan,’ is also becoming visible. This section extends 10.9 km from Daehwa Station on Subway Line 3 through Unjeong New Town to Geumneung Station (Geumchon-dong, Paju-si) on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line.
The surrounding road network is also well established. Through Jayuro and the 2nd Jayuro, one can quickly move to Ilsan New Town and Sangam DMC, and using the Seoul-Munsan Expressway, travel from Unjeong New Town to Seoul (based on Bukgoyang IC to Namgoyang IC) can be done in 20 to 30 minutes. The Metropolitan Area 2nd Ring Expressway, connecting major metropolitan areas such as Gimpo, Paju, Yangju, Pocheon, Namyangju (Hwado), and Yangpyeong, is also expected to open around 2025.
